Tonight we say goodbye…To a scenario paintball legend. There are not many people…if anyone…who can say they’ve played a scenario alongside or against Karl “Dragon” Wolf who have not walked away from the game the same way they started. It’s very rare that one man has the impact that Dragon has. From the OG days when our sport was molded, to playing countless roles with unparalleled creativity…always in character…always in costume…and always a great person and player. To Dragon….the keeper of the book of names that holds the names of countless players…including myself…who have heard the phrase…”So Saith The Dragon”…as they were handed their beloved nicknames…To his endless effort to make the game of scenario paintball fun and exciting for our new, young, and upcoming players.

Giving, Caring, Understand, Firm, Wise, Creative, Loved, LovING, So many words I could use to describe the man Paintball has lost this week…But I will always remember Karl…as a friend.

This game will miss you Dragon…and so will Raadio…So Saith The Dragon…

We came… We saw… Well, we didn’t win, but we did score some nice Swag!

Last weekend we went out to TXR Field to assist team friend Broadside of “The Warthogs”. It was his first command role and was up against the wily veteran Lapdance of “Reboot” in Viper’s, “Quest for the Holy Grail”. In the end, we came up just 30 points short of the victory. Not a bad showing by Broadside for the first time out! Just one final battle push pole away…

AE was pivotal in the final talley as we completed 16 of 17 missions. Most of which were in the shadow of the opponents base. Earning us a Most Valuable Team award. Bryan also earned us a Sportsmanship award. In the end, there was a great time had by all! We would like to thank all of our SE Texas friends who came out and ran with us. Can’t wait to do it again!!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that we’ve FINALLY picked up long time friend Stewart “stewylouie” Louie! Stewy comes to us from NYC where he did good work the infamous Seven Deadly Lemons. Stewart’s played at just about every level of competition from rec to scenario to professional events across the country. He’s a great player, awesome guy and we’re glad to finally call him family!

We did it again at the Annual Viper Paintball event, Twilight Zone! The team went out to TXR paintball with good friends Jefffro (Formerly of the Ghillied Goons) and Aaron V of Tournament Team Endless, and took it to the Blues this weekend!

We had an awesome time and came home with the MVT! AE has one more game coming up in December. Check the Forum for details!

Alter Ego Traveled out to the BRAND NEW 5J Paintball this weekend to play in the BRAND NEW Unorthodox Scenarios Event, Zombie Invasion: Kill or Cure! Commanding the game was Alter Ego friend and sponsor Danny Powell of Designer Paintball (http://www.designerpaintball.com/) was the commander of the Hunters, a group set out to rid the world of the brain-eating zombies. Commanding the side of the Saviors was Joe “Misfit” Woodward of PaintballMart (http://www.paintball-mart.com/) out of San Antonio who felt that curing the zombie of their terrible disease was a better solution. Playing the Zombies, was NSA Nation Champion pump Team Pumpenstein (http://www.pumpenstein.com/).

Kill or Cure was the name of the game and the game was action packed! Props, NPC vendors, RP missions, and of course…The Zombies! In this game if a Zombie got a hold of you…well you were “infected” and got to spend a little time helping the zombies. Zombies could be killed with a sneaky “barrel tag” or with a special color paint that had to be found or bartered for. Great concept and as one can imagine, very hard to facilitate but the Unorthodox ref staff did a great job of that! In fact, there wasn’t much that they didn’t do a great job of. The entire event, from registration, to the game, through lunch break (Catered by a local speedball team), and all the way up to prizes and awards seem to run VERY smoothly. The DXS Custom paint shot VERY well and at 60 a case seemed pretty fair for scenario prices and if you pre-registered ($30), you got an additional 5 bucks off paint all day long! There was a great prize package with every thing from markers, to TPX pistols, packs, masks, you name it, and if that wasn’t enough, there was a huge table of goodies for everyone else who didn’t win a larger prize so with that the free t-shirt you got with your registration, everyone went home with something! At the end of the day, the Hunters squeaked out the win, and the Zombies were no more…or were they? But wait, there’s more! There was a professional photographer at the event who took team pictures, actions photos, on and off field pictures and they are available online…not for $3 a picture or $25 for a CD….but for FREE! I thought that was REALLY cool!

The team had a BLAST and and brought home the MoFo!!!
